I’m often asked how can parents help children with anxiety. On Sat 1 Sept I am holding a workshop in Guildford for mums and dads to help them understand anxiety, and what useful strategies can be used to improve life for you and your child. More details on the workshop are below

About the event
This workshop will cover :-
The brain development of teenagers - "I hate you/ its not fair/leave me alone/you don't understand!” sudden displays of anger or being dismissive
Why its so hard for them to ‘just get on with it’
Systemic impact of the family - How genetics affect anxiety
The different roles of mums and dads - "Mothers give you roots, fathers give you wings."
How anxiety can manifest in teenagers: social anxiety; panic attacks; lack of interest in activities; school refusal; OCD; self-harming; suicidal thoughts
Ways to reduce anxiety
How technology impacts teenagers and what parents can practically do to help them?

About Tracey. Tracey is an experienced psychotherapist with a Masters in child, adolescent and family therapy. She works regularly alongside GPs, schools, psychiatrists and other mental health professionals.
